Kroger, like many supermarket chains, has a robust loyalty program, having access to tons of consumer shopping data with each swipe of the card. Now, they are putting that data to good use and offering personalized coupons based on consumers’ shopping behaviors, ensuring loyalty and encouraging more spending. This Amazon-esque in-store shopping experience, also being adopting by Safeway, sounds like it will be a game-changer in the category.
